Jacob de Graaf
Jacob de Graaf graduated in 2001 from the School of Fine Arts in Kampen, the Netherlands, specialising in painting. After that, he ran a small art gallery in his hometown of Sloten, in the northern province of Friesland.
Widely diverse, his work refuses to be limited to a single style or format. His works range in size from tiny panels to huge canvases, from highly abstract paintings to meticulously detailed and realistic work. No matter how diverse they might appear, they all have a stillness and contemplative nature in common, often using a monochrome palette to set the mood.
In 2006 he moved from the Netherlands to live and work in the beautiful city of York, UK. Since graduating, he’s exhibited in the Netherlands, the UK, and India.
