Scottish-born artist Ails McGee is the founder of According to McGee and creates original mixed media works, monoprints and gel prints from her studio in York. Inspired by nature, memory, changing light and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments, her practice embraces texture, layering and the beauty of imperfection.
Working intuitively, each piece evolves through experimentation and mark-making, often using found papers and hand-printing techniques to create one-of-a-kind artworks. Her collections invite moments of stillness and reflection, celebrating simplicity, atmosphere and the traces of time.
