‘National Theatre’ tunes into the expressive, visual forms of the twentieth century’s most contentious architectural constructions: the concrete kind. Semi-abstracted photographs of building the National Theatre intersect with shards of pattern and abstract swathes of pigment, in a 1960s palette of indigo and mustard yellow, for a beautiful homage to the Brutalist dream.

About Angus vasili

Angus is a print maker based in Yorkshire currently working from his make shift print studio. A silkscreen obsessive, driven by process, using abstract concepts to define the rules of each project. This encourages him to work intuitively, allowing his subconscious to guide ideas and creativity.

His pieces of work usually involve a combination of photography, architecture and texture which are highly experimental and constantly evolving. His practice involves many mistakes and happy accidents, with much of his work relying on chance which leads to the creation of one of kind pieces of artwork rather than multiple runs of prints.
