A colourful celebration of Dringhouses & Woodthorpe, created as part of our New Voice Project.
The original artwork was created by Young Artists of the Ward, capturing familiar streets, landmarks, green spaces and community life through their own eyes.

We used AI to augment young people’s original artwork and reimagine the local area through new illustrated maps. Hob Moor, the Knavesmire, community churches, Dringhouses Library and York College all featured alongside everyday themes such as cars and bikes sharing roads safely, residents caring for green spaces, and protecting local wildlife. The technology helped extend rather than replace the children’s ideas, turning familiar places into a creative picture of a connected, considerate and greener community.
New Voice Project gives young artists the opportunity to create, curate and share their work, turning their ideas into a collection of beautiful, useful objects.
